Yaeyama Blenny

Ecsenius yaeyamaensis

Marine Marine Indo-Pacific

A comical bottom dweller sporting an intricate camouflage of brown, white, and yellow speckles. It spends its day hopping between live rocks and scraping microalgae films. Mature live rock is crucial for natural foraging, and a secure tank lid prevents fatal jumping accidents.

Also called: Coral blenny, Pale-spotted comb-tooth, Palespotted combtooth blenny, Pale-spotted combtooth-blenny, Yaeyama blenny.
