Marine Marine Indo-Pacific

Heniochus acuminatus bears sweeping black-and-white bands and a dramatic filamented dorsal spine. Often kept as a hardier substitute for the Moorish idol, it thrives in large community aquaria. Note that unlike H. diphreutes, this species frequently picks at polyps and tube worms in reef tanks.
