Flame Hawkfish
Neocirrhites armatus
Marine Marine Indo-Pacific
Famous for its blazing red plumage and expressive dark eye rings, this endearing fish lacks a swim bladder and perches atop rock ledges like a hawk. It is hardy and full of character, but will readily hunt down and devour small ornamental shrimps, snails, and tiny fish.
Also called: Flame hawkfish, Brilliant red hawkfish.

Diet and tank layout
Flame Hawkfish is an carnivore that swims in the lowest part of the tank. It is safe with plants. Give it some cover. It will eat fish small enough to swallow.
