Yellow Seahorse
Hippocampus kuda
Marine Marine Indo-Pacific Usually captive bred
An enchanting, slow-moving syngnathid that anchors itself to gorgonians and seagrasses with a prehensile tail. It must never compete with fast-moving fish for food, requiring gentle water flow and dedicated feedings of enriched frozen mysis shrimp several times daily in a specialised species aquarium.
Also called: Spotted seahorse, Common seahorse, Estuarine seahorse, Estuary seahorse.
