Marine Marine Indo-Pacific Usually captive bred

An astonishingly brilliant fish coloured fiery orange with glowing blue neon stripes along its spine and fins. Despite its modest size, it possesses extreme territorial aggression and will ruthlessly harass placid tankmates. Pair exclusively with larger, robust fishes, and avoid combining it with small ornamental shrimp.

Also called: Orange dottyback, Arabian bluestriped dottyback.

9 cm adult length, drawn to scale. torpedo body.

Saltwater species. The planner judges it with a marine rule set. A reef or fish-only tank takes months to mature and costs more to run than freshwater. See the marine page.
