Whiptail Catfish

Rineloricaria fallax

Freshwater South America Usually captive bred

The whiptail catfish is a slender, stick-like suckermouth catfish that rests motionless on sand or broad leaves. Its peaceful temperament and gentle algae-grazing habits make it an ideal community fish. Keepers should ensure it gets adequate vegetable sinking pellets and soft sand so its delicate filament tail remains undamaged.
