Siamese Fighting Fish
Betta splendens
Freshwater Captive bred worldwide Usually captive bred
The fighting fish: a long-finned labyrinth species where males attack other males and sometimes fin-nippers. A heater is needed in most homes. One male alone in a planted tank with calm flow is the standard approach.
