Dojo Loach
Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
Freshwater East Asia Usually captive bred
Affectionately called the weather loach due to erratic swimming prior to barometric pressure drops. This cool-water oddball is remarkably tame and hardy. It demands cool, unheated water, soft sand for burrowing, and an escape-proof lid at all times.
Also called: Pond loach, Amur mud loach, Amur weatherfish, Dojo, Japanese loach.

Diet and tank layout
Dojo Loach is an omnivore that swims in the lowest part of the tank. It leaves most plants alone. Give it plenty of cover. It digs, so anchor plants and keep hard rock off loose sand.
