Gardner's Killi
Fundulopanchax gardneri
Freshwater West and central Africa Usually captive bred
An ideal starter killifish, Gardner's killi males display vibrant blue-green flanks covered in vivid red speckles with yellow-bordered fins. Semi-annual in nature, captive specimens reproduce readily in spawning mops. Provide plenty of vegetation and ensure the tank has a securely fitted lid.
Also called: Blue lyretail, Gardner's killi, Nigerian killi, Steel-Blue Aphyosemion.
