Giant Scissortail
Rasbora caudimaculata
Freshwater South-east Asia
The giant scissortail rasbora is an active surface swimmer with an iridescent silver body and contrasting black-tipped caudal fin lobes. In a sizable school, it presents an eye-catching, coordinated display. A long tank with strong current and a tightly secured hood is essential, as these swift swimmers leap readily.
Also called: Giant scissortail, Greater scissortail, Red scissortail, Redtail rasbora.
