Black Morpho Tetra
Poecilocharax weitzmani
Freshwater South America
The Black Morpho Tetra is a mystical dwarf crenuchid characin where mature males flaunt dramatic, elongated black and iridescent finnage. Demersal and cryptic, it stalks the substrate beneath thick leaf litter. It demands pristine, tea-coloured, extremely soft acidic water and slow, delicate feedings.
Also called: Black morpho tetra, Black darter tetra.
