Green Glass Knifefish
Eigenmannia virescens
Freshwater South America
An ethereal, semi-translucent electric fish that navigates dark waterways using a weak electric organ discharge. Unlike solitary knifefish, it appreciates being kept in a group provided hiding spots abound. Soft lighting, ample rooted vegetation, and gentle filtration will encourage it to feed comfortably on frozen worms and crustaceans.
Also called: Glass knifefish, Glass Knife Fish, Green knifefish.
