Northern Redbelly Dace
Chrosomus eos
Freshwater North America
A hardy coldwater minnow whose breeding males flash fiery scarlet bellies separated by dual dark longitudinal stripes. They thrive in unheated tanks containing cool, well-oxygenated water with filamentous algae to graze on. Keep them in groups to foster natural, peaceful schooling behaviour.
Also called: Northern redbelly dace, Northern redbelly minnow.
