Spectabilis Cichlid
Caquetaia spectabilis
Freshwater South America
A predatory basketmouth cichlid armed with huge, extendable jaws designed for snatching unsuspecting fish. Adults display lovely iridescent spangling on a dark, patterned body. They require soft, clean water and must never be housed with any fish that fit into their capacious mouths.

Diet and tank layout
Spectabilis Cichlid is an fish eater that swims in the middle of the tank. It is safe with plants. Give it plenty of cover. It digs, so anchor plants and keep hard rock off loose sand. It will eat fish small enough to swallow.
