Ceylon Combtail
Belontia signata
Freshwater South Asia Usually captive bred
An attractive labyrinth fish from Sri Lanka boasting warm russet tones and extended, comb-like caudal rays. Unlike smaller gouramis, it can be surprisingly pugnacious and intolerant of similar species. Provide dense plant cover, gentle water movement, and robust tankmates to prevent frayed fins and territorial conflict.
Also called: Ceylon combtail, Ceylonese combtail, Combtail.

Diet and tank layout
Ceylon Combtail is an omnivore that swims in the middle of the tank. It is safe with plants. Give it plenty of cover. It will eat fish small enough to swallow. It nips fins.
