Shuttles Mudskipper
Periophthalmus modestus
Brackish East Asia
The Shuttles Mudskipper is a fascinating amphibious goby that spends more time out of water than in it. Capable of skipping across muddy flats, it requires a paludarium setup featuring sloping sand banks and shallow brackish water. Ensure high air humidity, escape-proof lids, and sufficient land territories to avoid territorial squabbling.
Also called: Mudskipper, Shuttles hoppfish.

Diet and tank layout
Shuttles Mudskipper is an carnivore that swims in the lowest part of the tank. It is safe with plants. Give it plenty of cover. It digs, so anchor plants and keep hard rock off loose sand. It will eat fish small enough to swallow.
