Figure Eight Puffer
Dichotomyctere ocellatus
Brackish South-east Asia
Charismatic and inquisitive, this puffer shows off striking yellow swirls forming figure-eights across an olive back. Although sold as freshwater, it requires low-end brackish water for long-term health. Keepers must feed hard-shelled invertebrates regularly to wear down its constantly growing dental plates.
Also called: Eyespot pufferfish, Figure-eight puffer.
