Aquarium Related Tips

1. Some people go by the ìinch of fish, gallon of waterî rule when deciding on how large of an aquarium to buy.† This is a completely false and bad method to go by, you should always check your individual fishís tank requirements.

2. It is generally recommended to use natural gravel for the aquarium.† Colored gravel can be used, as long as it is professionally made, certain cheaply made color gravels can be toxic to fish in your aquarium.

3. Discus fish are very hard to care for, they have very specific care instructions.† These fish are hard to care for but are very beautiful.† However we recommend that these fish only be kept only by the advanced aquarium owner.†

BLM 1 in Union Slip

$4.75

This Union Slip is made of heavy duty impact resistant PVC. A Union Slip is an essential component to add to your aquarium. This Union Slip will get rid of the possibility of finding hidden cracks when you are filling up your aquarium. These fittings are used for attaching filters, pumps, protein skimmers and other devices to either your acrylic aquarium or the reservoir using regular PVC fittings. Easy to install, all you have to do is drill the appropriate size whole where you want to place the bulkhead in your aquarium, then you install the bulkhead with the gasket placed between the aquarium and the bulkhead flange and hand tighten for best results.
