Aquarium Related Tips

1. Provide plenty of places for your aquarium animals to hide. Studies have actually shown that the more places a fish has to hide, the less likely they are to do so! Hiding spots also provide safe spots of refuge for smaller fish in the aquarium

2. You should always research the different types of fish you are going to be housing together. Certain fish can be extremely aggressive and cannot be paired with other fish of different temperaments.

3. Research the aquarium equipment you are looking at before you purchase it. Different sizes of aquariums require different pumps and heaters. Find out which products are best for your aquarium before you start ordering the wrong products.

Tretocephalus Cichlid

$26.70

With beautiful color and shape, the Tretocephalus is a popular choice of cichlid coming from the waters of the Lake Tanganyika in Africa. The Tretocephalus grows to lengths of up to 6 inches and has beautiful pearl white and dark greenish brown stripes alongside its body. It should be kept in at least a 50 gallon tank housed with other aggressive species of cichlids. You should provide plenty of rocks and crevices in the tank along with a sandy bottom if you are trying to house Tretocephalis Cichids in your aquarium. This fish is an omnivore and should be fed a diet of both vegetable and meaty based foods to maintain a healthy diet.
