1. Make sure you ask plenty of questions when you are buying accessories or fish for your aquarium. The salespeople are there to help you, and should be able to handle any concerns you have when buying items for your aquarium.
2. It is generally a good practice to purchase the largest aquarium that you can actually afford. A larger aquarium will be less susceptible to quick changes in the chemistry, and will offer much more stability.
3. You should feed your fish a variety of food and not just flake foods. Mix it up with fresher foods from their regular diet. Giving them more a varied diet will increase the general health of your fish.
