Filefish are originally from the waters of the Pacific and around the islands of Cebu, Australia and Fiji. Filefish grow to around 4 inches at full length and should be kept in an aquarium of at least 30 gallons in size to provide plenty of swimming and living room for these fish. Filefish are omnivores and should be fed a steady diet of brine shrimp, shaved shrimp, scallops, mysid shrimp and other meaty preparations along with herbivore mixes for best health. Filefish should not be kept in the reef aquarium as they have a habit of nipping and biting at corals.
