Aquarium Related Tips

1. Wrasses are very lively fish, and love to jump. You should always have a well secured lid when keeping wrasses in your aquarium.

2. Discus fish are very hard to care for, they have very specific care instructions. These fish are hard to care for but are very beautiful. However we recommend that these fish only be kept only by the advanced aquarium owner.

3. You should feed your fish a variety of food and not just flake foods. Mix it up with fresher foods from their regular diet. Giving them more a varied diet will increase the general health of your fish.

Tiger Shovelnose Catfish

$27.09

Tiger Shovelnose Catfish or Pseudoplatystoma Fasciatum as it is scientifically called, is originally from South America. The Tiger Shovelnose Catfish has very beautiful black markings resembling stripes alongside its body. The Tiger Shovelnose Catfish will feed on live feeder fish such as Goldfish and other fish that are bought especially to feed. You should not house the Shovelnose Catfish in tanks with smaller fish as it will eat them if they will fit into its mouth. If you want to house more fish in the aquarium, they should be relatively the same size as the Tiger Shovelnose. Make sure that your aquarium has plenty of hiding spots and plants for the Tiger Shovelnose to hide in.
