The Tiger Barb is an ever popular species of barb to keep in the aquarium. Tiger Barbs are very active lively and fun fish to sit around and watch in your aquarium. Tiger Barbs are originally from South East Asia and are native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Tiger Barbs are generally found in clear or turbid water, Tiger barbs grow to around 5-6 centimeters in length but will not grow too large when held in captivity. Tiger Barbs are best kept in schools and you should not purchase one unless you are planning to put at least 5 of them together. In smaller numbers, the Tiger Barb will become more aggressive and can attack the fins of slow moving larger fish if not in adequate numbers.
