(chaetoderma pencilligera) Saltwater
Native to the Indo-Pacific area, this unique looking fish is also know as a Leafy Filefish, a Tassled Leatherjacket and a Prickly Leatherjacket. Its blue with green blothes body is compressed and shaped like a leaf. It is covered in skin flaps and tassles, which help it blend into the sea-grass where it finds food and lives. It has an elongated first dorsal fin than can be erected toward predators scaring them away. They also have front incisor teeth, which it grinds, causing a growling sound. This fish is a great addition to every aquarium.

Tank: min. 40 gallon Temperament: Food: (Omnivore) Needs a varied diet, including plant material, chopped meaty items and frozen/fresh seafoods. Light: Medium Adaptation: It tends to be shy when first introduced into the tank and will be slow to adjust if it is housed with belligerent tank-mates. Also needs Plenty of places to hide. Compatibility: Not a good candidate for a reef system, as it is not safe with sessile invertebrates. It usually ignore its tank-mates as long as they are not members of its species or have a similar look.
