Aquarium Related Tips

1. You should always purchase the correct lighting setup for your aquarium.† Doing this will make the habitat much better for the fish and plants in your aquarium.

2. Only use medication in your aquarium when you are out of other options.† You should use a separate tank to medicate sick fish as some medications can have harmful effects on healthy fish.

3. Discus fish are very hard to care for, they have very specific care instructions.† These fish are hard to care for but are very beautiful.† However we recommend that these fish only be kept only by the advanced aquarium owner.†

Silver Dollar

$9.14

Silver Dollar fish are named as such for their appearance, they are silver in color and their body shape is more rounded than other fish. Silver Dollar Fish are great fish for beginners as they are hardy and live a fairly long life of around 5-10 years. Silver Dollar fish are generally peaceful, and they should be kept in schools of at least 4, as they can become quiet jumpy and scared if they are not kept with more of their kind. To house the Silver Dollar fish you should keep them in an aquarium of at least 20 gallons with plenty of plant and rock cover. Silver Dollar fish are herbivores and should be fed mostly algae wafers, flake, and freeze dried live foods to supplement protein in their diet.
