Scarlet Hermit Crabs are originally from the waters of the Atlantic and more specifically around the Caribbean. Scarlet Hermit Crabs grow to around an inch in size and should be kept in an aquarium of at least 20 gallons in size to provide plenty of swimming and living room for these crabs. Scarlet Hermit Crabs are scavengers and should be fed supplemental mixes of herbivore and carnivore preparations in between scavenging. These crabs are peaceful, and should not be kept with other more aggressive species that may attack and harm them. Scarlet Hermit Crabs are easy to care for, and can be kept by the beginning aquarium owner with little problem.
