1. It is generally recommended to use natural gravel for the aquarium.† Colored gravel can be used, as long as it is professionally made, certain cheaply made color gravels can be toxic to fish in your aquarium.
2. Make sure that the bottom of your aquarium is fully supported by your aquarium stand.† If you have any gaps in the structural integrity of your aquarium, it is much more prone to breaks and leaks.
3. Pay close attention to your fishís PH needs and augment your aquarium as necessary to accommodate the new fish you are adding to your aquarium.
