The Retropinnis Bichir is another Bichir that is from Africa, more specifically it is from the Congo Basin. The Retropinnis Bichir has the unique ability to survive outside of water. The Retropinnis Bichir is snake like in appearance and it is normally yellowish brown with dark patches along the body of the fish. The Retropinnis Bichir does best in a larger odd paired aquarium with larger fish that are passive in demeanor. As long as the Retropinnis Bichir is in a larger tank the Bichir is not too aggressive to its tank mates. You should not keep the Retropinnis Bichir with smaller sized fish as this species will eat any fish that it can fit into its mouth. This species is also prone to jumping and having a tightly sealed aquarium lid is absolutely necessary.
