Being closely related to the Peacock Cichlid, the Red Peacock Cichlid comes from the east coastline of the Cobue in Mozambique. The Red Peacock grows to around 5 inches and has a long lifespan of 12 years. You should not keep the Red Peacock in an aquarium of any less than 40 gallons. You should make sure that the aquarium that you house the Red Peacock in has plenty of rock but still provides adequate swimming space for the Red Peacock to move around freely in. The Red Peacock is only aggressive toward its own species or if other fish try to invade its territory. You should keep at least 3 to 4 females for every male that you keep in the aquarium.
