Growing to a size of around 4 to 6 inches, the first thing you will notice about Peacock Cichlids is their bright color and beautiful markings. They should be kept in an aquarium of at least 45-55 gallons with plenty of rocks and caves and crevices for the Peacock Cichlid to swim and hide in. The Peacock Cichlid is a relatively peaceful fish compared to the other species of Cichlids that are out there, they will set up their territories and defend them, but other than that, they can be put in the same tank as Catfish and other Peacock Cichlids and be perfectly happy and peaceful. These fish should be fed a good variety of live food and pellets and flake food for a well rounded diet.
