Aquarium Related Tips

1. Do not overfeed the fish in your aquarium. Keep your feeding times at scheduled intervals to avoid overfeeding. If you are just starting your feeding routine, start out small and increase the amounts you put in on how much your fish eat.

2. You should always take the time to acclimate your fish to the aquarium. Acclimating your fish will get them used to the environment of the aquarium. Adding fish directly can be too much a shock for your fish and can pose health hazards.

3. You should always thoroughly research the type of aquarium you are going to be setting up before you purchase it. Make sure you have the proper gallon capacity and shape that will fit in your home.

Ornate Bichir

$0.00

The Ornate Bichir is a larger sized fish from the family of fish called Polypteridae which also contains other fish that can actually survive out of water. The Ornate Bichir fish is nocturnal and bears a resemblance to salamanders. The Ornate Bichir is generally pretty peaceful and will not attack other tank mates as long as they are of the same size. Ornate Bichirs are carnivores and should be fed a well rounded diet of meat. Ornate Bichirs are pretty picky eaters and will not eat anything less than live foods like fish or earthworms. You may also feed the Ornate Bichir chopped beef and it will eat that as well. Ornate Bichirs make a great addition to your aquarium and are very fascinating fish.
