Aquarium Related Tips

1. It is not a good idea to wash your filter media with regular tap water. The tap water can kill the beneficial bacteria that is built up in the filter. Use distilled water to clean out your filter and its components.

2. After establishing your aquarium, pick fish that will add well to the current water conditions in your aquarium. Also be sure to check their temperament and other needs to be sure that they will make the transition in your aquarium smoothly.

3. You should always take the time to acclimate your fish to the aquarium. Acclimating your fish will get them used to the environment of the aquarium. Adding fish directly can be too much a shock for your fish and can pose health hazards.
