Widely known for their aggressive behavior, the Jack Dempsey Cichlid is named after the famous boxer. They have long bodies and in adulthood turn a bluish black color with dark fins and a thin red border around thin. Jack Dempsey Cichlids should be kept in an aquarium with other cichlids of similar size and aggressive so that they can defend themselves. When the Jack Dempsey Cichlid gets older it should be kept in a pair or in a larger group and this will help to diminish some of their aggressiveness. You should feed the Jack Dempsey Cichlid plenty of flake and pellet food, at least once daily to maintain a healthy diet for the fish. You should keep them in a larger sized aquarium with plenty of room to swim and plenty of cover to hide under.
