Aquarium Related Tips

1. You should always stay up to date on the new and exciting practices for fish keeping. Subscribe to several news letters to keep up to date. If you like to read, go to your local library and get some books on fish keeping.

2. It is not considered a good idea to keep aggressive fish with fish of other temperaments. You should keep peaceful fish in an aquarium with other peaceful fish to avoid any sort of fighting between the fish. Aggressive fish should only be kept with other aggressive fish.

3. If you have a protein skimmer you should shut it off when you are adding medicine to your aquarium. The protein skimmer will remove any medicines added to the aquarium.

Green Severum Cichlid

$9.15

Growing to a size of 8 to 10 inches when kept in captivity, the Green Severum Cichlid is from the Northern Amazon in South America. They are aggressive fish and should only be kept with other semi aggressive to aggressive Cichlids from South America, or bottom feeders that keep to themselves. You should house the Green Severum Cichlid in an aquarium of at least 55 gallons, and be sure to include plenty of hiding spots in the form of rocks, plants, and driftwood. To ensure that your Green Severum Cichlid is healthiest you should feed them only high quality pellet food along with a meaty treat every week.
