(centropyge aurantius) Saltwater
These fish are native to the Indian Ocean and are also known as the Velvet Dwarf Angelfish. Their color is a burnt-orangish red with yellow vertical bars on the body. It is hermaphroditic and is difficult to breed because it is hard to distinguish a male from a female. This species is hard to find and is considered a prize fish.
Size: up to 4" Tank: min. 50 gallon Temperament: Peaceful, needing many hiding places. Food: Eats small meaty items, angelfish and herbivore preparations and live sponges. Light: High Adjustment: If one of the 1st fish introduced in the tank it will adjust rapidly. Also if it is introduced in a tank with other peaceful species. Compatibility: Does best if it is the only dwarf in the tank. Will nip at sm/lg polyp stony coral and Xenia coral (no damage, just irritates the coral). Cautiously place with reef.
