Aquarium Related Tips

1. When adding particularly aggressive fish to your aquarium, it is a good idea to move around the rocks and such in the aquarium before placing the new fish into the aquarium. Moving the rocks in the aquarium will allow the fish to go back and stake out their own territory.

2. It is good to budget out the cost of your aquarium. You should leave plenty of money to purchase quality filters, pumps, and heaters for your aquarium. Your big aquarium is going to do you no good if you do not have the proper equipment to keep it going.

3. Keep plenty of testing kits on hand, if you own a saltwater aquarium you should mainly focus on nitrates, PH, salinity, and phosphate levels. Never be caught off guard, make sure you have plenty of kits available to test the levels.

Gold Severum Cichlid

$15.10

Getting to sizes of up to 20cm in length, the Gold Severum Cichlid is a larger Cichlid from South America. The Gold Severum Cichlid is a gold color with different darker markings along its body and a brighter shade of gold on the under belly. Gold Severum Cichlids need to be kept in a larger aquarium with plenty of room to swim and move around in, you should also make sure that your aquarium has plenty of rocks and plant life to make for good hiding spots for this fish. This is a rather peaceful fish and should be kept in a larger sized community tank. The Gold Severum is not a picky eater, and will eat anything that you feed it, however you should stick to mostly vegetables to follow its natural diet.
