Aquarium Related Tips

1. Goldfish can live incredibly long periods of up to 25 years. You should plan accordingly when you purchase a goldfish.

2. Cichlids tend to be very intelligent fish. You should do your best to interact with them as some species will respond positively to you arriving home. These fish are very active and if you interact with them, they can develop much better.

3. When adding new species to your aquarium, you have to ease them in. Adding too many fish too quickly can cause the ammonia and chemical levels to raise quickly. Adding fish slowly gives your filter time to catch up.

Gold Gourami

$6.98

Gold Gourami have bright gold coloration and long belly, back, and top fins, these fish are very attractive. Gold Gourami are a good community fish and generally peaceful, unless it is kept with other Gouramis. These fish grow to a length of around 6 inches at full maturity, and should be kept in a larger sized aquarium of at least 35gallons in size. The Gold Gourami is a hardy fish, and will survive in various water conditions. These fish are omnivores and should be fed a steady diet of fresh, flake, and also live feeder fish. When spawning, you should make sure to remove the parents as soon as the fry start hatching, as the father has a tendency to eat the fry fish as they hatch out of the their eggs.
