Aquarium Related Tips

1. If you have a protein skimmer you should shut it off when you are adding medicine to your aquarium. The protein skimmer will remove any medicines added to the aquarium.

2. It is generally recommended to use natural gravel for the aquarium. Colored gravel can be used, as long as it is professionally made, certain cheaply made color gravels can be toxic to fish in your aquarium.

3. You should keep plenty of water testing kits for your aquarium. Testing kits can measure the levels of harmful and beneficial chemicals in the aquarium. You will need these testing kits for the frequent water changes for your aquarium.

Red Fromia Starfish

$9.50

The Red Fromia starfish is a great addition to a very peaceful aquarium, it will add a touch of very bright red to your aquarium environment. It is best to place this starfish in a mature aquarium with a lot of algae and detritus to graze and feed on. If you have algae in your aquarium, you can supplement its diet with dried algae, meaty foods, flake and pellet foods as well work just fine. You can keep more than one in larger aquariums, but along with other starfish, The Red Fromia is very susceptible to high levels of copper so it is best to keep the copper levels in your tank. Also this starfish is very sensitive to extreme changes in the water levels.
