1. When adding new species to your aquarium, you have to ease them in.† Adding too many fish too quickly can cause the ammonia and chemical levels to raise quickly.† Adding fish slowly gives your filter time to catch up.
2. Make sure you ask plenty of questions when you are buying accessories or fish for your aquarium.† The salespeople are there to help you, and should be able to handle any concerns you have when buying items for your aquarium.
3. If you have a protein skimmer you should shut it off when you are adding medicine to your aquarium.† The protein skimmer will remove any medicines added to the aquarium.
