1. You should never add uncured live rock to the aquarium.† Doing so can release harmful levels of ammonia into your aquarium.


2. Make sure you ask plenty of questions when you are buying accessories or fish for your aquarium.† The salespeople are there to help you, and should be able to handle any concerns you have when buying items for your aquarium.


3. Cichlids tend to be very intelligent fish.† You should do your best to interact with them as some species will respond positively to you arriving home.† These fish are very active and if you interact with them, they can develop much better.

Fancy Bass

The Fancy Bass Anthias gets its name from its beautiful coloration and fins. Fancy Bass generally grow to around 4 inches at full length and should be kept in an aquarium of at least 55 gallons to provide plenty of room for this fish to have plenty of room to swim around in. Fancy Bass Anthias are normally found in the waters of the Indo-Pacific Ocean and are carnivores. You should feed your Fancy Bass Anthias a variety of myis shrimp and other meaty preparations.


Origin: Western Pacific

Size: Can grow up to 4 inches at full maturity

Feeding: Carnivore, should be fed plenty of meaty preparations.

Aquarium: Saltwater, can be kept in a reef aquarium.

Minimum Tank Size: 55 Gallons

Behavior: Can be aggressive at times.

Care: Moderate

Compatibility: Can be kept with other fish of the same size and temperament.
