Aquarium Related Tips

1. It is never a good idea to add shells from the beach into your aquarium. Introducing shells raw from the beach can add harmful bacteria and potentially new creatures to the aquarium.

2. When you purchase your aquarium and the equipment for your setup, do not purchase the fish at the same time. You are going to need plenty of time to cycle the water in the aquarium to make it hospitable for the fish in your aquarium.

3. Cichlids tend to be very intelligent fish. You should do your best to interact with them as some species will respond positively to you arriving home. These fish are very active and if you interact with them, they can develop much better.

Elephant Brittle Star

$9.50

Brittle Starfish are originally from the waters of the Pacific Ocean around Fiji and also Tonga. Brittle Starfish grow to around 10 inches across and should be kept in an aquarium of at least 50 gallons in size to provide plenty of swimming and living room for these starfish. Brittle Starfish can be a bit aggressive and should not be kept with more peaceful aquarium inhabitants, as it may harm them. Brittle Starfish are omnivores, and should be fed a steady diet of plenty of herbivore and carnivore preparations for best health. Brittle Starfish can be a bit hard to care for, and should only be kept by the experienced aquarium owner.
