Aquarium Related Tips

1. You should take out any carbon filters in the aquarium when you are medicating your fish.† The carbon in the filter will remove the medicine from the water, so it is best to remove it all together.

2. If you use your tap water, you should make sure to remove the chlorine from the water before you add it to the aquarium.† Chlorine can be very harmful to some of the fish in your aquarium.† You can purchase kits to remove the chlorine from your aquarium at many retailers online.

3. Purchasing fish that feed off of algae is a good plan to take care of an algae problem in your aquarium.† You could also try cutting back the amount of lighting in the aquarium or get an algae treatment chemical to take care of any algae problems.

Cuvier Bichir

$0.00

Cuvier Bichir fish are originally from the Nile River Basin and also Western Africa. They are very adaptable and can live in a wide range of aquariums with different water conditions. The Cuvier Bichir has distinct characteristics that make it look like a much more primitive fish. The Cuvier Bichir is normally found in slow moving waters and also swamp or regions along the banks, but they also do very well in captivity and aquariums. The Cuvier Bichir feeds on smaller fish and insect larvae. The Cuvier Bichir is a long body fish that is usually light brown to gray. The Cuvier Bichir also has scales that are covered with a very tough material that makes this species very hardy. Cuvier Bichirs are great additions to the aquarium.
