1. You should always stay up to date on the new and exciting practices for fish keeping. Subscribe to several news letters to keep up to date. If you like to read, go to your local library and get some books on fish keeping.


2. Cichlids tend to be very intelligent fish. You should do your best to interact with them as some species will respond positively to you arriving home. These fish are very active and if you interact with them, they can develop much better.


3. It is a good idea to clean your aquarium with a soft wash cloth and warm water. The soft cloth will not leave scratches on the inside of your aquarium and will remove any unsightly stains.

Terms and Conditions for Purchases - Effective 2008

There is a minimum fill order of $350.00. If your order is under $350.00 there will be a $25.00 service charge for orders filled on Monday and $15.00 service charge for orders filled on Tuesday - Thursday. There will be no shipping on Friday-Sunday. In case some items are not available when your order is packed, please indicate what items you would like substituted to ensure you are not charged a service fee due to a low fill order.

Your order will be better serviced by placing it one to two days before the receiving day, as we cannot guarantee same day shipping or next day arrivals.

We cannot determine precisely what items will be available for sale until just prior to shipping. If the size you specified is not available, we will substitute (up or down one size only). This will help in being able to fulfill your order promptly. If there is a particular item that you would not accept a size substitutions for, please notify your sales rep. If there are any weather conditions that we need to know about for delivery purposes notify your sales rep. All prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice.

All shipments are sent with the best carrier and routing for deliveries and are made in good faith of arriving safely. Should any delay occur or mishandling by any carrier, the shipment must still be picked up regardless of the circumstances. Refusal to pick up your shipment for any reason will void any and all claims by you and the shipper on the carrier. Shipments must be picked up within 3 hours of arrival or when made available by the carrier. Getahugetank.com cannot be responsible for any delay or mishandling by the carrier and cannot guarantee delivery time. If boxes arrive damaged or transit time is greater than 48 hours your shipment must be inspected upon acceptance and any damages or losses and problems should be noted and acknowledged by an airline representative. You would be required to obtain a claim form at the time of pick-up and fax a copy of the inspection report, claim form, DOA list and copy of the paid air-bill to Getahugetank.com within 48 hours. Your failure to follow any of the procedures above may void any claims to be paid by the carrier or Getahugetank.com. Our procedure if the above criteria is followed would be to issue 50% of the livestock claim on the next invoice, and the balance would be issued if and when the claim is paid in full by the airline.

Our Live Arrival guarantee is only on direct flights and only for losses above 3%. Any transfer flights will not be guaranteed and any orders shipped DHL, FedEx or any other door-to-door carrier in which service failure occurs as these carriers do not assume liability for loss of live animals due to shipment delays. Getahugetank.com will attempt to recover freight costs for our customers in the event of service failure in guaranteed conditions, but cannot provide a guarantee on DOA credits for livestock as otherwise provided per our Terms & Conditions.

Orders less than $350.00 are not guaranteed. Fish or Invertebrates valued more than $50.00 are not guaranteed. All Sharks and Sting Rays are not guaranteed. Any animals that are "Dead On Arrival" (DOA) or "Did Not Receive" (DNR) claims must be reported by fax within 12 hours of arrival at your airport. Fax must be sent on the original invoice with DOA & DNR marked on the line in which they appear on the invoice. All invoices must be paid in full. All credits are subject to approval and would be applied to your next order. Any approved credits must be used within 30 days of approval or they will be forfeited. Any orders that have been packed and then canceled, due to any reason, are subject to a 10% re-stocking fee. DOA claims of 10% or greater must be accompanied by a photograph.

Orders are shipped Pre-paid Credit Cards. Visa, Master Card, AMEX and Discover are accepted. We do not accept C.O.D. MONEY ORDER shipments. Pre-payment with a company check or wire transfer can be arranged (but allow enough time for your check to clear your bank before shipment is sent).
