Aquarium Related Tips

1. You should take out any carbon filters in the aquarium when you are medicating your fish. The carbon in the filter will remove the medicine from the water, so it is best to remove it all together.

2. It is a good idea to clean your aquarium with a soft wash cloth and warm water. The soft cloth will not leave scratches on the inside of your aquarium and will remove any unsightly stains.

3. It is not a good idea to wash your filter media with regular tap water. The tap water can kill the beneficial bacteria that is built up in the filter. Use distilled water to clean out your filter and its components.

Caudopunctatus Cichlid

$26.70

From the waters of Lake Tanganyika in Africa, the Caudopunctatus Cichlid is one of the smaller species of cichlids, growing only to sizes of around 3¬? inches. You should keep the Caudopunctatus Cichlid in an aquarium of at least 30 gallons with plenty of rock and cover for this fish to take refuge in. As far as tank mates, you should keep other smaller Tanganyikan Cichlids with this fish. The Caudopunctatus Cichlid is a carnivorous fish and should be fed a steady diet of brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, bloodworms and meaty flake and pellet foods for the best results.
