Native to the shores of Lake Malawi in Africa, the Blue Peacock Cichlid is a beautiful brightly colored Cichlid. With striking markings of bright yellow to metallic blue, the male is the one who gives this cichlid its name, as the females are colored from brown to gray. For best results you should house your Blue Peacock Cichlid in an aquarium of at least 50 gallons along with plenty of rocks for the Cichlid to claim territory and sandy bottoms. The male Blue Peacock is aggressive towards its own species if its territory is invaded upon, you should provide 3 to 4 females for every male you put in the aquarium. The Blue Peacock should be fed both meaty and vegetable based foods, live and frozen brine shrimp along with Spirulina based flake and pellet food.
