Aquarium Related Tips

1. Make sure to keep a log on hand to update any changes in the aquarium. This will help you keep track of changes in your aquarium much more easily. Keep your aquarium log in a place where you wonít forget it.

2. Wrasses are very lively fish, and love to jump. You should always have a well secured lid when keeping wrasses in your aquarium.

3. Keep plenty of testing kits on hand, if you own a saltwater aquarium you should mainly focus on nitrates, PH, salinity, and phosphate levels. Never be caught off guard, make sure you have plenty of kits available to test the levels.

Blue Gourami

$6.05

(Osphronemidae ~ Luciocephalinae) Three-spot Gourami/Blue-Gourami

The Blue Gourami has a hazy, whitish-blue coat.  Besides that they are identical to the Three-spot Gourami.  Even though it is called Three-spot, it really only has two spots, but they call it Three-spot because they count the eye as the third spot.  These fish are generally considered to be good natured fish when they are small, but when they get bigger they can become territorial and attack smaller fish.  They have a fairly long life span and develop individual personalities.  They pick up on who is their owner in identifing them when they are around and use their pelvic fins to feel their tank mates out to get familiar with them.  They can be a very fun fish to have around.  They get rather large up to 6".

Type Fish: Gourami

Temperament: Peaceful

Lighting needs: Bright

Habitat: Plants

Swim Level: Top of Tank

Size: Up to 6"
