Dubbed the Torpedo Cichlid, the Black Stripe Dwarf Cichlid is commonly referred to as the Torpedo Cichlid for its unique elongated body shape. These fish have special needs concerning water chemistry, and are only recommended for the advanced aquarium owner. You should house them in a tank that is at least 30 gallons in size. You should have plenty of rocks and plants and other places where these fish can make a hasty retreat to. The Black Stripe Dwarf Cichlid is a carnivore and should be fed newly hatched baby brine shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms, and high quality flake food. These fish remain rather small growing now larger than around 3 inches.
