1. Make sure to keep a log on hand to update any changes in the aquarium. This will help you keep track of changes in your aquarium much more easily. Keep your aquarium log in a place where you wonít forget it.

2. Goldfish can live incredibly long periods of up to 25 years. You should plan accordingly when you purchase a goldfish.

3. You should always research the different types of fish you are going to be housing together. Certain fish can be extremely aggressive and cannot be paired with other fish of different temperaments.

Black Convict Cichlid

$6.05

With a beautiful display of violet hues with black stripes alongside its body, the Black Convict Cichlid comes from the freshwater bodies of water in Central America. You should house this fish in an aquarium of at least 30 gallons to provide for plenty of room to swim around in with plenty of rocks and driftwood to hide in and stake out their territory. Because of the aggressive nature of Black Convict Cichlids, you should only keep them in an aquarium with other equally aggressive fish. These fish are omnivores and should be fed a diet of freeze dried bloodworms, ocean plankton, and flake food along with pellets.
