Aquarium Related Tips

1. In larger aquariums, you should put a few scavenger fish in the tank. Scavenger fish will help to clean up left behind food and wastes from the other fish in the aquarium. This is a good eco friendly way to keep your aquarium clean.

2. Make sure that the bottom of your aquarium is fully supported by your aquarium stand. If you have any gaps in the structural integrity of your aquarium, it is much more prone to breaks and leaks.

3. Clownfish are all born as males, but when the age and get older they have the amazing ability to switch sexes .

Red Eye Barnacle Blenny

$31.00

(hypsoblennius brevipinnis)
Saltwater

"Cousin" to the Barnacle Blenny, this fish is black, white and red in color with very large red eyes and pinkish-red lips. Watching this fish eat can be a thrill. While the Barnacle Blenny is rare, this blenny is extremely rare and a prized addition to any reef aquarium.

Size: 1" to 2"
No. in Tank: More than one - provided they could be found.
Tank: min. 10 gallon
Temperament: Peaceful
Food: (Carnivore) Likes small invertebrates. Will also eat meaty treats, finely chopped crustacean flesh, krill, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp and fresh mysid shrimp. Feed several times a day. This fish is very attentive, waiting for its next meal. The moment food is seen it will dart out, very fast, snatch it, then scram back into its home.
Light: Medium
Adaptation: Ideal in a reef system, it needs plenty of live rocks with crevices in which to hide plus room to dart about.
Compatibility: Peaceful tank-mates are best. This fish's speed and frenzy while snatching its prey is due to its desire not to become prey for another fish (and possibly those trying to relocate it to an aquarium??).
