African butterfly Fish are from the Western and Central regions in Africa. African Butterfly Fish are covered in black to silver colored scales with ornate fins on their stomach and tail, spotted with white and black. African Butterfly fish generally grow to around 4 inches in length and should be housed in an aquarium of at least 30 gallons in size with plenty of plant and rock cover as this fish will need places to retreat to if it feels threatened. African Butterfly fish are carnivores and should be fed a high protein diet consisting mainly of bloodworms, brine shrimp, and other insect larvae to ensure they are getting the right nutrition.
